Police are hunting two men caught on CCTV following a horrific attack on a 20-year-old man who was set on fire at a station on Thursday.

The victim was sitting in his Jeep Cherokee on the forecourt of Texaco service station on Himley Road when he was doused in petrol and set ablaze.

The man, who has not been named, suffered severe injuries from the attack.

He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The police have launched a manhunt for the attackers, naming 30-year-old Stephen Burden as a suspect.

The force has released CCTV footage along with a mug shot of one of the suspects — 30-year-old Stephen Burden.

Burden was captured on CCTV next to a row of petrol pumps wearing a Nike Air sweatshirt.

A second man, pictured wearing a blue Adidas sweatshirt on the forecourt, is also being sought in connection with the brutal firebomb attack at 7pm last Thursday.

Detectives are urging anybody who sees Burden or knows his whereabouts to contact the police on 999, but urged the public not to approach him.

Detective Inspector Jackie Nicholson, from Force CID, said: ‘We urgently need to speak to both these men and I would like to appeal to them directly to make contact as soon as possible.

‘We have trawled CCTV in the area, spoken to a number of witnesses and our enquiries are ongoing.

‘If anyone has any information about where Burden may be, or has any information on the second suspect, please contact us as soon as possible.’
